LA : Venice Beach & Santa Monica Pier

On day 2 of my Californian travels we drove down to Venice Beach. It took quite a few hours, I didn’t realise how big LA was! It was well worth the long drive though!

I’d always dreamed of walking along this beach and visiting it one day and I was here! One of my dreams had become reality and it was unreal. The sky was the bluest of blues and the beach was huge! It was about 11am and there wasn’t many people on the beach at that point so it was so nice taking my surroundings in. Now that made me feel like I was on holiday, seeing the sea.

We took a few photos and then decided to stroll along to where the shops were. I’d heard it had a hippy, down to earth vibe here so I was excited to get into the hustle and bustle of it all. The shops ranged from quirky boutiques to souvenir t shirt ones with bassy music booming out. I’m never a big fan of walking about, but my god I could have walked for hours up and down this beach. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe was so chilled. I felt so happy. I don’t think I’ve felt that happy in a while. I felt free and it felt good.

After having a little mooch about we spent a few hours soaking up the sun on the beach before heading to Santa Monica Pier, another place I’d been eager to visit. I can’t believe that this was where Miley Cyrus filmed the Hannah Montana movie! I’m a big fan…

We decided to take a ride on the ferris wheel so we could take in the view from high up and it was amazing! So so cool!

There was a big shopping plaza nearby so we quickly did a spot of shopping to end the day. I came across Nasty Gals first ever store by accident so I was dead excited being able to go into there. I basically wanted everything in the shop! Oh and this neat vintage store where I bought a sequin cap (in photos).

Before we headed back we dined at Baby Blues BBQ and I ate a whole rack of ribs. No biggy.
